On 9/24 thru 10/1 Schera's will have special hours: Monday 24 thru Wednesday 26--11am-2pm Thursday 27--Closed. Friday 28--Patio Party 7pm, $20 at the door includes beer & food. No Regular Service. Saturday 29--Zwanze Day! Noon-5pm. No Regular Service. Sunday 30--Democratic Fundraiser 4pm-8pm. No Regular Service. Monday October 1--Closed.

Thankfully, the river has crested much lower than predicted. Now we just need to hope for no more rain for a good long while. We'll be back open regular hours tomorrow.

Schera's will be closed today due to flooding concerns. The river came up almost 7 feet overnight. It's at 16.5 feet and expected to crest at 19.5 feet around noon tomorrow. So please call before you head out to see if we are open!

New fall entrees debut tonight: Harvest Vegetable Hash, Scallop & Shrimp Tagine and Chicken, Beet & Sweet Potato Tagine. Also, there are still a few tickets left for Zwanze 2018. Get them now. Ticket sales will end at 5pm CST on Monday, Sept. 17.

So it's been raining a lot these last few days, and it looks to continue raining into next weekend. Consequently, the Turkey River has risen rapidly in the last few days. Prediction models are still showing a minor flood risk with a crest of 13.3 feet. We won't start getting water in the building for another 7 or so feet. However, even if the water only rises a few more feet, we may have our gas shut off out of safety concerns, and we will have to close since pretty much all the cooking here involves gas. So if you are planning on visiting Schera's in the next week, please check our Facebook page, website, or give us a call at 563-245-1992 to make sure we're open. Any changes in schedule will be posted there. I'm a big fan of traditions, but this annual end of summer flood scare is one I could do without. Brian

What a difference 2 hours makes! #SPONDay

Just finished the beignet dough for #SPONDay. Now it just needs to rise for a couple of hours, and we'll be on our way to New Orleans fried dough! #SPONDay is noon til 5 today. Tickets are $20 for lunch and #SPONDay glass. All of the 13 Jester King Brewery beers are available at the cash bar.
